What Is the Best Time of Year to Take a Padel Trip to Mallorca?

When someone thinks about travelling to Mallorca, they often imagine July, August, beaches, heat, beach bars and a suitcase full of swimwear. And yes, Mallorca in summer has a lot of charm. But if we are talking about taking a padel trip to Mallorca, the answer changes quite a bit.

To play padel, train, move around the island, enjoy Palma and have a comfortable experience, the best time of year is not always the hottest one. In fact, at Grip and Trip, we work especially from October to May because we believe these months are much more pleasant for combining sport, tourism and local life.

Mallorca is not only a summer destination. That is one of the ideas I most like to share. The island has beautiful light in autumn, mild days in winter, a wonderful spring and a much calmer rhythm outside the busiest tourist months. And for padel, that makes a big difference.

Playing in Good Weather, but Without Extreme Heat

Padel is a fun, social and very addictive sport, but it also demands movement, reflexes, concentration and legs. If it is too hot, everything becomes harder: running, thinking, defending, moving up to the net and, above all, keeping your energy throughout the match.

That is why the months from October to May fit so well with a padel trip to Mallorca. Temperatures are usually milder, the sun still appears on many days and your body responds better on court. You can train, play matches, enjoy a meal afterwards and continue with a plan around Palma without feeling like you need an emergency siesta every half hour.

You can play in summer too, of course. But very often you need to look for very specific time slots, avoid the hottest hours of the day and accept that the heat can have a big impact on the experience. For a padel holiday, where you want to enjoy the whole trip and not just survive the match, choosing the right time of year makes a difference.

October and November: Mallorca After Summer

October and November are very interesting months to travel to Mallorca if you like padel. The island begins to recover a different rhythm after summer, the atmosphere is calmer and there are still many pleasant days to enjoy outdoors.

For me, October has something special. The intense heat has already gone down, but the island still keeps that Mediterranean energy that invites you to be outside. It is a perfect month to play, eat on a terrace, walk through Palma, visit a cove without so many people or enjoy a more local plan.

November is quieter, and precisely for that reason, it can be very attractive for groups looking to disconnect. You do not come to Mallorca only to lie on a beach. You come to train, play, meet people, eat well, walk around Palma and discover a much more authentic island.

Winter: Padel, Calm and Another Way to Experience the Island

Many people do not think of Mallorca in winter, and that is a shame. Because for a sports trip, especially if we are talking about padel, winter can make a lot of sense.

Of course, not every day is perfect. It can rain, it can be windy and the days are shorter. But there are also beautiful days, mild temperatures compared with many European cities and a feeling of calm that is almost impossible to find in summer.

Winter allows you to experience a different Mallorca: more local, quieter and more real. You can play in the morning, enjoy a slow lunch, walk through the old town, visit a museum, discover the Caves of Génova or end the day on a terrace without feeling that everything is full.

For small groups, couples or players who are not looking for the typical sun-and-beach trip, but for a sports getaway with a local soul, these months can be a great option.

Spring: Perhaps the Perfect Balance

If I had to choose an especially beautiful time of year for a padel trip to Mallorca, spring would be very high on the list.

March, April and May have that kind of energy that appears when the island starts to wake up more strongly. There is more light, more desire to be outside, pleasant temperatures and the perfect atmosphere for combining training sessions, matches and plans after padel.

Spring in Mallorca allows you to do many things without the trip feeling heavy: play in the morning, eat at the club, walk through Palma, get close to the sea, discover a cultural corner or simply sit on a terrace and let the day continue.

For padel, it is a very comfortable season. It does not have the intense heat of summer, but you can already feel that Mediterranean atmosphere that makes everything feel a little more inviting.

Less Crowding and More Availability

Another important point is availability. During the busiest tourist months, Mallorca becomes much more crowded. There is more traffic, higher demand for hotels, more restaurant bookings, more movement in tourist areas and, in general, less sense of calm.

Outside summer, the experience is usually more comfortable. There is more room to organise schedules, adapt plans, enjoy Palma without so much rushing and experience the island in a way that feels closer to how residents live it.

For Grip and Trip, this is essential. We do not want the trip to become a race of reservations, transfers and heat. We want it to have rhythm, for the group to enjoy itself, for padel to fit naturally with the rest of the plans and for Mallorca to feel close, not overcrowded.

The Best Time Also Depends on the Type of Trip

Although for us October to May is the ideal season, the best time of year also depends on the type of experience you are looking for.

If you want a padel getaway with good weather, a calm atmosphere and local plans, autumn and spring are excellent options. If you are looking for disconnection, calm and a slower Mallorca, winter may surprise you. And if your priority is to combine padel with plenty of beach time, May or October may be especially interesting months, because they allow you to enjoy the outdoors without the most extreme summer heat.

The important thing is to understand that a padel trip does not need to coincide with the high season for sun and beach. In fact, very often it is more enjoyable when the island breathes in a different way.

Why Grip and Trip Works Especially from October to May

At Grip and Trip, we have chosen to work especially from October to May because we believe these months offer the best balance for our trips: pleasant weather for playing, more calm, a stronger local feeling and more possibilities to enjoy Mallorca in an authentic way.

We want you to be able to train without suffering extreme heat, play matches with energy, share meals, walk through Palma, discover corners of the island and enjoy a complete experience. Padel is the starting point, but the trip does not end on the court.

Mallorca has something very special during these months. It does not compete so much for attention. It does not need noise. It shows itself in a quieter, closer and often more authentic way. And that fits perfectly with what we want to create.

Because when you choose the right time of year, the trip is enjoyed from the first point to the last walk.
